Friends of Yimbo (FOY) is a non-profit organization based in Southern California, dedicated to "Building a Brighter Future for the People of Yimbo."
Yimbo is a small village located in the Western region of Kenya. The village is home to over 1,000 Kenyans, living in poverty, relying on mother nature to provide for them.
FOY is focused on providing these loving people with clean, safe water; designing and building area-appropriate buildings; giving them the necessary knowledge and tools to fight HIV and other illnesses; and most importantly, educating its youth so that they too can someday provide for their people.
FOY was started by brothers, Ben and Charles Odipo, in 2007; riding on the loving spirit left to them by their father, Joseph. Today, FOY is supported by a voluntary advisory board of eight, and looks forward to its annual humanitarian trips into the beautiful land inhabited by the people of Yimbo!
