But considering that they have all promised the same thing, it's been the same Democrats coming back in, working with the unions, I don't see much changing in the near future. I hope I'm wrong"

I agree that the condition of the Detroit has something to with the blacks there, but I'd rather say they're the victims, not the culprit. I mean, if any other city threatened to go D-ish, how many million $ would ANY government send there to prevent that? But Detroit? Who cares, just ni****s there!

This is easy, I am confused as to why this is even up for debate. Think rationally. What built Detroit? The big car companies. Who received recent government bailouts because they were failing as a corporation? Who cut off countless factory workers and skillmen their jobs? The answer to them all is the big three. Duh?

There was no capitalism in the 60's under mayor Jerome Cavanagh, it was 100% socialism. He promised higher taxes to be paid by the wealthy for benefits for the lower class. It was part of the model cities program under LBJ to create a strong base for the Democrat Party. This was continued by mayor Coleman Young who stayed in office from 74-94. The problem was that Socialism doesn't take into consideration an individual's free will. So the wealth and jobs left for the burbs, and nothing is left.
