Dove Real Woman, Gina Crisanti, wants to know what you think. How do you see female beauty represented in the media now? Is the pressure to be thin as intense as ever, or is the tide turning? www.truebeautyworkshops.com
But, yes, it is hard to be yourself in this time of mass media... and I'm on my quest, and I think it's wonderful that Dove has launched this campaign for young girls.. that's who truly needs it. I guess I grew out of my adolescent age... I am 17 and engaged. I do love myself, and the way I look.. since I believe that nothing is more beautiful or more captivating than what nature gave us.
P.S I applaud your bravery for posing in your undies :)
It is women, who can't fall in love with real women... sadly.. thing is... you rarely hear a man say that an average sized woman is too fat or her nose is too crooked... or her boobs are too small and her waist undefined... so many times we have made these standards for ourselves, compiling male comments (Yes, men said this, but in the end they are still in love with this real woman, and he sees her as something much better, than he could ever imagine).
Hi, Gina... this struggle of beauty still goes on everyday, and sometimes it feels like not much has changed...whenever commercials are shown in the end I think girls might still pay more attention to the "fake" commercials... one because sometimes it is much easier to believe in imaginary things, than those that are real... and I think the real self image problem is with women, and men can definitely help us with that.. thing is.. men still fall in love with real women....
