  • @Ace14ad50da Google: "IAEA report Iran" You may want to notify Yukiya Amano, Director General of the IAEA. Seems his agency's report of last November is warning the world of evidence that suggests that they certainly are developing an atomic weapon. I'm sure he will appreciate all of your inside information. All they have to do is carry the weapon aboard a ship in the Straits of Hormuz and detonate it with US ships nearby.

  • @Ace14ad50da the testimony of the Curveball informant to build a rationale for military action which led up to the 2003 invasion of Iraq. Curveball's claims were later shown to be false. Curveball happened to be based in Germany, which after that fiasco, unfortunately makes any information supplied through Germany about the Middle East suspect. The Iranians don't even have the resources to coordinate a nuclear strike before being suppressed anyway.

  • @xlucim Just because Iran has an oil reserve, doesn't mean that it can't look for other sources of power. They never vowed to destroy Israel, they said that if Israel kept on the way it is going, it would wipe itself off the map. I'm going to ignore your next point, as it is an ad hominem. The trove of evidence was actually on a CIA owned laptop after the data was allegedly collected in Iran, then smuggled into Germany before being turned over to America. If you remember, the CIA also used

  • @Ace14ad50da Lovely theory. Iran has the 3rd largest oil reserve in the world and yet its racing towards nuclear power. They vow to destroy Israel,,how? they can't do it with convential tatctics. They have cozy relationsips with N. Korea and Pakistan, they surpress freedom of speech, execute women and gays. Do they sound like credible people to you? The UN report from the IAEA found a trove of evidence that they are headed towards making weapons. It's even in the NY Times.

  • @Ace14ad50da All the evidence suggesting that Iran has a nuclear weapons program is based almost solely on circumstantial evidence, and yet this is what is being shown on t.v. The US and other nations are trying to collectively bully Iran, and Iran is kinda getting pissed after all they've been trying to do is electricity to their people.

  • @xlucim Iran does not have nuclear weapons. They have a civilian nuclear power program under the IAEA and their safegaurds agreement as well as the npt safegaurds agreement. This means Iran cannot create nuclear weapons under the scrutiny of the IAEA and under the NPT. Many state have tried to declare that Iran is making nuclear weapons, but the IAEA has since been able to verify the non-diversion of nuclear material. I repeat, Iran does not possess a nuclear weapons program.

  • @Ace14ad50da So what do we do? Look at Iran, we helped install the Shah and until 1979 Iran caused no problems. So what shall we let these people run amuck with NBC weapons until they wipe out Israel and then all non-believers, or do we try to instill some form of influence to keep things a little calmer in the region? I think we are giving them an opportunity to try to enter the modern world. Most of those people have a 4th grade education and a 7th century theological mentality.

  • @Ace14ad50da and everyone thinks they've won. Trying to impose a different way of life on people is more of a way to make enemies than friends.

  • @xlucim I don't know why I was typing Egypt so much, I apologize for that. Let me rephrase my argument. History does not prove Chomsky wrong, installing a sunni \\\government with a shiite dominant populace makes perfect sense, especially in the sense of having allies. America gives them control of the government in exchange for favors. A dictatorship doesn't have to look like something you see out North Korea. America wouldn't make enemies out of Iraq for that. Have an election, rig some votes,

  • @Ace14ad50da I was refering to Iraq not Egypt, I read more than one point of view and if you know an issue can't be proven or disproven then why do you ask for proof? The US (like all countries) is better off when they have allies instead of enemies. Sometimes those allies are dictators because they are the lesser of the evils. The goal of the US is not to install Sunni leadership, it is to encourage Democracy at best and avoid making enemies at the very least.
