I am an acromegaly patient who started on a drug to control the tumor called Somatuline Depot. My doctor told me I had to self-inject deep subcutaneously. This can be very intimidating when you first learn such information, but as time has passed, the process is very easy.

I decided to tape my shot routine and share it with the world in hopes that my routine offers comfort and stability to anyone considering the use of Somatuline.

I hope you find this video to be informative and helpful.

  • Supersmash: I am 6'3"

Maxdamagnificent: Thanks! I have been very lucky that my size has gone back to closer to normal. Certain aspects still there, but I really have nothing to complain about.

  • Any side affects I usually vomit stomach cramps etc

  • Good video,Thanks!!

  • I am so glad I don't have to do that. I had surgery a month after diagnosis and my features started changing instantly. It really is an amazing and life changing process. By the way for that person who left a comment talking about some one with this disease who is an ugly beast? That doesn't help anyone least of all yourself.

  • Awesome video, now I'm not quite so freaked about this injection mess. My IGF-1 level was 450 1 month after pit. surgery (down from 1330 pre op). Did you have any surgeries performed and if so, what were your numbers pre and post op? My pituitary growth hormone is at .4 now (over 6 pre op), shouldn't my IGF-1 stabilize at a lower number? I know I'm asking a lot but I know you've been through this and was curious about what you thought as I am set to have my 1st injection in 2 weeks. Thank you.

  • you look normal to me. you're so positive!
