I'm not convinced. Isn't it that God has always been concerned more on what is inside rather than outside? I can accept that the practices He imposed in Leviticus were to promote "holiness" to the Israelites, but banning deformed people is an attack on the person himself. "You are not worthy!". God is self-righteous and cruel. No wonder He is desperate for love.
