They are young, creative and very experimental. They stll love our culture and at the same time embracing other culture. please look on the positive side OK!

Kung tutuusin, hindi natin masasabing TUNAY na Pilipino ang tinikling. Bakit? Nagsimula it nang may impluwensya mula sa Timog Silangang Asya. Mayroong din itong impluwensya mula sa mga Kastila sapagka't ginamit nila ang tempo ng kinikilalang Spanish dance na JOTA. The idea of collaborating contemporary music with traditional should not be taken negatively because it is the youth's way of connecting with our traditional culture. Mabuti na yan kesa tuluyang mawala sa pusot isipan ng kabataan.

I'm sure the dancers here were not trying to protray any disrespect to the Filipino culture because as you can see they're Filipinos so why would they want to disrespect their own culture?? I believe that they're just putting together two forms of dance which they both love and want to show people. It may be out of the ordinary but be a little open-minded. The song they even chose was rhythm nation. take a hint. (hope I shed some light on the subject)

hahahha bunch of clowns!

Try typing "Leyte Dance theatre" in you tube search bar. They're more filipino in nature.
Enjoy.

This is absolutely wrong. Whoever created this dance lost his/her mind. That folk dance is supposed to show Filipino culture, not an American culture. This folk dance is not meant to be mix. All I see is bunch of clowns on a rhythm nation and wannabes. Filipinos lost their sense of creativeness and are American wannabes.

Nothing wrong, are you out of your mind. That folk dance is suppose to be a Pilipino culture, not an American culture. All I see is bunch of clowns on a rhythm nation and wannabes. Pilipinos lost their sense of creativeness and are American wannabes. Their sense of creativeness sucks.

I think hindi talga xa bagay pag hinaluan ng hip hop,, Ung native design pa rn ng folk dancing ang mas maganda,, mas maganda pa rin ung original na style,, pinoy na pinoy
hey i am one of the few filipino folkdancers belonging to a professional group with elite authority on the subject. while i find your piece here amusing to the 'public eye', it is very offending behind the scenes. mainly because it disrespects us filipinos as a whole and the originations of the dances. please give justice to the dances and the culture itself; dont mix hiphop!

i was iffy on participating in this project b/c of the possible negative reaction filipinos may have. although the choreography is our own, the concept was designed by ANCOP for the GK777 concert. we thought we signed on to produce a traditional dance number, but in the end, followed ANCOP's program. much to our surprise and delight, the performance received a very good response from the audience. however, i too find it disrespectful to tradition
