for a first firearm a .22 LR would be better then any of the guns shown...and they are ALOT cheaper to shoot and easier to find

To me Hi-Points are throwaway guns. All polimer and not intended for a long day at the range. The heat from the barrel causes the slide to start warping.

Obviously you haven't done your homework. 7.62NATO aka .308 works great if you have the right rifle / barrel. Check out LWRCI's REPR. I see pics of people getting 1 MOA groups at 100 yards all the time.

Nice video. My first gun was a Sig Sauer P226 in 9MM. Before I made my purchase, I did a lot of research because I wanted a quality handgun for home defense / target practice / recreation. Also, I was considering some HKs, Glock, 1911 and some other I don't remember. Mosin-Nagant is pretty cool. I don't have one but will eventually. I'd get an AK or Saiga vs SKS.A bit more expensive but I hate spending money on junky guns.
