@DreamerM It's always the way of it in so many bands, amateur or professional. The others pick on him/her as being a drag and not cosmic enough and chuck them out only to find out to their bitter cost exactly what the poor unfortunate fucker did for the band. Matlock with the Pistols, Lemmy with Hawkwind etc. etc.

@izzynone1 What are you talking about, have you read Johnny Rotten’s bio? He had long hair when he listened to Alice Cooper, and he cut it when he heard Iggy Pop. And ya, white man playing reggae, name a white guy who plays blues, o wait...ERIC CLAPTON!, Jimmy Page. Without experimentation we wouldnt have music anymore, the clash took a risk, the pistols road the commercial wave, punk destroyed them, the clash stopped being punks as they realized how much better they could do than 3 chord songs.

The Clash were just an imitation of what was current at the time - bandwagon jumpers basically. Strummer was a longhair in the 101ers until he saw the Pistols. The next day he was a punk - yeah ok Joe!

The Clash weren't original enough to deserve a classic albums doc. Skinny white middle class boys trying to play reggae - nah!

Noel Gallagher said it best; "You could put a best of together from the Clash's 5 albums and it wouldn't be worth a wank next to Never Mind the Bollocks!"

Especially when you have the musical ability of a potatoe.
