At this point the teachers union are asked to contribute a minor amount to thier health care plan and pensions to help save the states budget. If the state passes the point of no return these union members will be asked to contribute nothing because they will not have any pension, not have any paid health insurance and many will be unemployed, period!

What media matters left out in that hack article is that Clinton cut taxes in the midst of his recession successfully.

@dantheleo The Heritage Foundation? That is a right wing think tank who have lobbied for the elimination of the tax system since the Reagan Administration. There economists are right wing hacks, and are only so highly regarded because they are saying what big business wants to hear. Clinton and Bush 41 (after his infamous read my lips statement) raised taxes to cut the massive deficits Reaganomics gave the country. You really need to brush up on your history.

@WorldBFree2006 I get daily updates, M - F from eight different U.S. economists (5 of the 8 are the most highly regarded economist in the U.S.) and the Heritage Foundation and NOT ONE ever warned of tax cuts leading to a recession. In fact, just look at history to prove the idiocy of your statement, recessions began to recover when tax cuts were implemented. The reason why every President in the last 40+ years have implemented tax cuts in the midst of every recession, successfully.

@dantheleo It's not new at all. Every economist who was not directly benefiting from these cuts warned of this happening. The data is there look for it. And you are right I don't "doubt my dear leader" in his assertion that it's the right thing to do to continue to grow the economy. There is no doubt in my mind HE IS WRONG!!! I said that in my last post, but in case you missed it here it is again.I HATE THAT HE EXTENDED THE CUTS. AND BECAUSE OF THAT I MAY NOT VOTE FOR HIM. Is that clear enough?

@dantheleo Furthermore, I'd like you to explain how these tax cuts are good for the economy. I will explain how they are not. In the late 80's and early 90's we were in a recession. In 92 Clinton raised taxes by 3% on the wealthiest 1.2% of Americans. The economy thrived in the 90's we had the lowest rate of unemployment and inflation since the 60's.8 years later Bush comes into office cuts the taxes for the wealthy the middle-class pays more in taxes prices increase and we are in a recession.

@dantheleo I don't know what you're talking about when you say every American benefited from these tax cuts, but I assure you the word "fact" belongs nowhere in that statement. The so-called middle-class is paying what the rich are not that is the basis of the Bush tax cuts. I hate that Obama extended them. It is for precisely that reason I may not vote for him in 2012 if Nader or another decent independent runs.

Raising taxes on the rich by only 3% 20 years ago took this country from a pretty sizable recession and gave us a decent surplus. Bush cuts those taxes and we're back on the brink of disaster. Liberals always need someone to blame, taking no responsibility for the Wisconsin condition to begin with, decades of a liberal/democrat legislature which created the debt Wisconsin is in, is fact! Seeing that Judge Posser is likely to win again, who is going to undo it? Gov Walkers will rebound just as Chris Christies did, his polls dropped and a few months later one of the most popular Governors in the U.S.
