Here's a quick recording using my new Roland BK-7m Backing Module. I'm only using the BK-7m here as backing using the Club Bossa Style, which is generated by playing the chords from the XE's lower manual and bass pedals. The XE's drawbars are also going through a Ventilator Leslie Simulator.

  • Hi Keith, fantastic sound and a great bit of playing,I have just accuired a Hammond XE2 so I am just sorting things out . Hammond drawbars are certainly the best,

What is this vetilator you refer to ?

cheers ,Alan SK8 nr M/c airport

  • @kbplayer133 Hi Alan, thanks for your nice comments and congratulations on acquiring an XE2. The Ventilator is a Leslie simulator which has a much more realistic effect than you will ever get from the XE2's internal Sim. The best way to rig one up to an XE2 is to use the 11pin leslie socket on the back of your XE2, this requires adapting an 11pin Leslie plug to connect with the Vent, let me know if you want more info on how to do this. I'm not far from you either, just down the M56. Cheers Keith

  • Well done Keith. I am glad to see you are using your BK-7m now.... and I have enjoyed all your demos! And yes... that hammond sounds pretty nice. I have been playing my BK7m with just the rhythm and a few organ sounds recently, to see how it would perform... It's fantastic. I should really put a video up, actually I may well do that, but try it for yourself too!

  • @Sweentech1 Hi John, thanks for your comments on my humble offerings. I've just listened to your latest upload using the BK's Organ sounds with Rhythm's only and I'm very impressed, just shows how versitile the BK is, well done.

  • Superb. Aside from the fact that I really like this particular tune, your playing and your recording is exemplorary. Absolutely spot on.

  • @rotosphere2000 Wow thanks for your great comment Keith, I tried to model it on the Frank Sinatra/Jobim version which is really nice and laid back, at least I think I got the intro correct.

    kind Regards Alan

  • @cheshire1uk Thanks Keith! I appreciate that coming from a fellow player! All the best, John

  • @funkb0x Your right the Q3 is hungary on batteries so I bought a mains adapter for it from Maplins, I think it was around £15, anyway it does the job OK.

  • @cheshire1uk It's more than good Keith. I've had the Zoom Q3HD for months & was quite disappointing it didn't come with a charger. The batteries last 20 minutes compared to the Kodak Zi8 lithium battery which lasts 2 hours + a charger came with the camera. Needless to say I still use the Kodak or I would of spent more than the Kodak cost me on batteries. I'm saving the Zoom Q3HD for when I actually have something decent to record. :)
