I'm happy for your father- truly. But not everyone can play the market- I can't- plenty can't. And I don't hate capitalism- far from it. What I have a real problem with is predatory capitalism- that's capitalism without any rules. That's when profits are maximized regardless of social and environmental costs. That's when, if there's a choice between the bottom line and my life, I lose. We're better than that. I just don't know who is big enough to stand between me and the preds other than gov't.

Well, yeah. It's been great for the big corporations, banks and Wall st. Not so much for mom & pops- before Reagan, every city in America had it's own small businesses.
