San Franscico Tea Party Part 1

A diverse crowd of nearly 1000 people gather for a protest march in San Francisco on April 15, 2009. Most of the local mainstream media either ignored this gathering or characterized it as a small group of racists, right wing radical trouble makers. The group organized in the Civic Center and march up to Speaker, Nancy Pelosi's Office in the Federal Building. Pelosi was informed that these constituents were coming and wanted to ask her some questions. Instead of staying she chose to leave her office and go up to the Mark Hopkins Hotel to have a personal book signing. To attend Pelosi's book signing, individuals were charged up to $85 each, had to go through security and were not allowed to bring in signs. According to the San Francisco Police there was no violence or vandalism during the 11:00 to 1:00 rally.

I spoke to a San Francisco Police Officer standing on the steps of City Hall. He said, is was nice to see a demonstration on the other side for a change. He also then remarked how much was being taken out of his paycheck every month.

I didn't say anything about war. Obama has lowered income taxes, it's a fact. You might wanna educate yourself on that.

@DirtFlyer Most people that go to the Tea parties honor, respect and feel that one of the main functions of the federal governments is our national defense. Tea Party people are willing to give their tax dollars to the federal government to defend our country. If you think all war is bad, I would think you would be opposed to Obama who has escalated the war in Afghanistan Americans who he has send there are being killed everyday and his "drone policy" kills civilians almost everyday.,
