This animation demonstrates the new Closure Procedure as way of treating varicose veins. Using ultrasound, surgeons position a catheter into the diseased vein through a small opening in the skin. This tiny catheter delivers radiofrequency (RF) energy to the vein wall. As the catheter is removed, the vein wall heats up, causing the collagen in the wall to shrink and the vein to close. Once the diseased vein is closed, blood is re-routed to other healthy veins.
@52689prettyflo The vein needs to be removed for specific reason.

I have used both and for the most part I think that they are equivalent. Laser is fasater, but efficacy seems similar. One study does quote a miniscule increas in parasthesias with VNUS, but again that is propaganda and likely not relevant based on the numbers quoted. More important is the quality of the Doctor doing the exam. Monkey doctor = poor results!

Looks great in animation graffics. But unsuccessful results have noted. Might want to ask, those physicians who have tried VNUS Closure and the newer endovenous laser ablation, which one they prefer!! That will give a better perspective.
