Teddi King, in a performance on "Playboy After Dark" (circa 1959), displays the enchanting qualities that made her such a special favorite of devotees of Jazz & the Great American Songbook standards, throughout her career and up to the present, 30 years after her untimely passing from lupus. in 1977.

My grandma was her cousin. No lie. She was a jazz singer as well. Please check out my music channel; I'm an 18-year old aspiring musician ;-) I've just been accepted to Berklee in Boston, so I kind of want to return to my old jazz roots.

She was amazing though. Wow. Her coloring is impeccable. Where did you get all of these videos?

An old friend of mine, Hal Miller, whose been doing Jazz Video presentations for many years) copied them for me. I haven't been putting any more up on Youtube for several years as I've been busy with other activities; but am glad you liked that one. Tom Pierce.

THANK YOU for posting Teddi King on YouTube! I have been patiently waiting for her to appear. I believe that I own everything she recorded, but have never actually SEEN her singing. What a treat to watch her in action. Don't you have any more you could post???

I have perhaps one or two others only, which I will get to eventually. I hasve quite a few singers I want to upload, which is a time-consuming process to isolate, convert to avi & than upload; and I have quite a few other music activities I'm committed to. Glad you enjoyed it.

I have been a fan of Ms. King since 1960 or so. I've never heard so perfect intonation,
taste, and a lovely voice. Pretty girl, too.
I'm glad they releasing these old recordings. I used to slip in one on an overnight show,
when I was a night time man at a radio station. Jerry O'Dell

Yeah the 1920s were cool. The decade of this video, the 1950s, was nice as well. ;^P

The was also on Coral. I just found a pretty early record of hers called "All the Kings' Songs."
