First weekend out in May with the fly rod produced lots of Big Bluegill, Sunfish, Perch and Warmouth. We recorded many strikes on the surface on tape.

  • How come the bluegill I fish don't hit like that?! I have 8,9,10 inch bluegill barely nip the fly! What's the secret?

  • @Allaroundstuff not sure if there is a secret but I love using a smaller popper or floating white spider ( small ) they seem suck it down pretty well. Also some of my best hits are when I work the popper a few times ans let it sit for like 10 seconds. been using a big red popper on the surface killing the bass last couple weeks! 40 bass last Saturday on the flyrod...

  • lots of hungry fish feeding right now!

  • @2zsurf I have tried tiny dry flies on size 18 hooks and still hook about half of them, the poppers are way too big and they just pluck it under.
