The djembe, common throughout all of West Africa, is a skin-covered hand drum shaped like a large goblet. The drum is said to contain three spirits: One from the tree, one from the animal that gave its skin, and one from the drum-maker. In the past, rural villages used the djembe to communicate with one another. Today, it is the music that brings people together to perform traditional African dance, a vibrant, energetic style of dancing. Distributed by TubeMogul.

  • This video also shows how Hip Hop dance originates from AFRICA!!! So everyone who does Hip Hop dance and/or Chicago footwork; you are doing AFRICAN DANCE!!! Also, many people DO NOT understand that people who are African have many skin complexions just like everyone else! By me being an African American young woman, I'm so HAPPY&GLAD to be an African descendant! I am NOT a shame of my ancestors nor am I a shame of my BEAUTIFUL skin! I LOVE African dance and African music! It's sooo BEAUTIFUL!!!
