the idea of using a bar is to conserve stamina so you can be more agile. the less tired you are the harder you can keep going, which is very important doing hard songs, like summer speedy mix, pandemonium etc.
as far as impressive goes, id rather see someone pass a 13 step having to use a bar than seeing an 11 without
Yes, but.. consider which which way takes more effort, agility, dexterity, stamina and strength and is, honestly, more impressive? To me, if I have to use the bar, I'm just not good enough. So I need to try harder and get better. You know?
continuing...its extremely tiring playing itg, so you have to start using every trick you can to conserve stamina..heel-toe'ing, bracketing, bar etc. or youll run out of energy much quicker
i was once a non-bar-raper, but when i started to get beyond 10 steps, it became sort of a manditory thing if i wanted to pass it
hah, sorry i was thinking your gonna act differently then that so i was kinda edgy :p
anyways im talking about in the groove custom r21 songs, 13+ steps. with ddr on the other hand it doesnt matter if you use the bar or not because normally an experianced player of ddr would play consistant 7-10 steps, however an experianced itg player would play consistant 10-13 steps.
i think if i recorded this with my potato it would have come out better

in 2002 or so I won a Perfect tournament in Middletown, New York. You tell me. :p
Sad thing is, I suck now, compared to back then. The more weight I lose, the worse at DDR I get. WTF!!

by the way, how good are you? as far as maximum step you can do and if you went to play for an hour, which steps would you consistantly do

Which version are those songs on? They've recently changed the versions at the arcades around here, sadly. I miss my 5th remix. :(
Also, I am going to be giving your comments a thumbs up, since we are debating and not arguing. it's a refreshing change of pace, on the internet!
