Just because you can don't mean you can do it forever, save you back dude, it's the only one you'll ever get. I still cut wood but cut the big sticks a little shorter so I don't strain.

@highcountrytimber amen to that!

dude your a maniac with that anvil.....how many hernias do you have ....youll be on the blues before you know it ...keep on pluggin

Us Redneck are definitely creative and hard working when the cause is good .

I remember cutting and splitting wood for many years. Now I walk to the thermostat when I get cold.....

Dude you get high marks for placing and balancing a 200 lb log on a bathroom scale ON ICE.

I think maybe in a former life, you used to be an Executioner in the middle ages. ....who chainsawed the logs for you then?

learn the proper way to swing a maul. lift maul straight into air,bend knees,compress with swing

It is quite clear you are not afraid of work. However, you can slit those big rounds way easier by "peeling" them. Aim to take off 2-3 inches of the outer edge, and work your way around the whole log. Then go for the center.
And goddamn dude you make that 12lb maul look like a flyswatter.

positive: you seem to have an excellent work ethic and are strong.
negative: you seem to be dumb as a brick and you are going to hurt yourself, and that can't be un-done. Why are you starting to split wood IN THE WINTER??? It needs to cure 6-12 months. It may burn, but a good deal of the heat goes to evaporating the moisture (will rot pipes and cause creosote too!). Guard your health...exercise is great...jarring your joints brings life-long pain.
Best wishes to you.

@kenfo0 do not assume i burn wet wood, i split it and then stack it to dry. I have built my own wood splitter now check out the video
