win gold, then you can say you're #1.

He is #1 in America and after only 3ish years in the sport. Jon is more than on his way to being a top international competitor and at a place like CalStrength with a coach like Pendlay who in my opinion IS American weightlifting its not a matter of if but when...
Having met the guy as well I can tell you first hand he doesn't have an inflated ego. I think he was just reacting to a PR!

john isnt arrogant, its his way of motivating himself, and you can tell he as loud and excited when someone else makes a PR

@puppiesNicecream My point was, even in good taste, you shouldn't be wrong. The 62 class lifters who attempt near this much or more in training are well out of their weight class. You said it yourself, generally people cut weight for competitions and attempt lower weights.
-
@EndlersaurusRex You obviously know nothing about competition weightlifting. Most all lifters work up to and perform heavier lifts in training then in competition, for obvious reasons, cutting weight, passing pre and post competition drug testings , metal focus issues etc. Just because one person holds a current world record doesn't mean they are the only one that can and is lifting those numbers, to say the least about it.

@EndlersaurusRex This is a training video. John screaming like he did after a miss lift was funny to me. My comment was in good fun based on the video. Anyone that takes offense to peoples responses shouldn't be posting videos or at least not give anyone any reason to say but only what they want to hear or close to it. I want to see John clean and jerk 230. I watch all of their videos. I like to see progress, I want to see the best out of all of them.

@puppiesNicecream World Record for 62 class is 182, and only a handful of 69s do this much. If you're going to be an ass, at least spout facts and not bullshit.

Attempt!
