The point is, health insurance for everything is a bad idea. What is insurance for?

Something you don't expect but if it happens, its devastating. People using health insurance for everything, going to the doctor, flu shots and the like makes it too expensive for everyone.

Cold Hard Fact... It's a risk pool. It's not ok that some people can't get iinsurance because it takes the profit out of the risk game. Stossel you are towing the line for Rupert Murdoch and his pals. Its not ok. Making a profit from the risk pool... it's a bad idea.

Grocery insurance? That is by far the worst argument I've ever heard. Having health insurance does not mean that you can go and have any surgery you want. Hey I'm gonna have a triple bypass even though I'm healthy cause someone else is paying for it!!! Give me a break. Government run health insurance only covers neccesary surgeries. It is this type of BS that has people actually convinced that "socialized" medicine is a bad idea. 3% of medical claims denied, and 50% of applicants denied.

here's a better idea - stop funding "overseas contingency operations," drop the income tax, and drop the stupid interstate competition prohibitions in the healthcare industry.

Where is this NYT poll cited in this video? I could only find this "In Poll, Wide Support for Government-Run Health"

Second, if they believe once there is insurance for medical care everyone will just get all treatments regardless of cost, there has to be something fundamentally wrong with society. This is fear-mongering at its best.

I find it funny every time a country is brought up to be compared to the States, Americans get so defensive, swallow your nationalist pride and learn something
