Samba Saravah

This scene from Claude Lelouch's 1966 film Un homme et une femme (A Man and A Woman) does not merely pay homage to the sensual musicality of the Brazilian samba; it is also a celebration of the love between a man and woman, flashbacks of a lost love.

The song, along with the rest of the music that appears in the film, is scored by Baden Powell. The lyrics were penned by Francis Lai, and the song is recorded by Pierre Barrouh. Pierre Barrouh himself is seen in this clip playing opposite Anouk Aimee as her husband.

Saw this film in the theatre decades ago. It still remains as one of the most romantic and bittersweet films of all time.  The music just adds to it, so romantic!
