A surprise visit and speech by Stephen King at the Awake The State rally in Sarasota. (Pardon the horrible video quality. The camera was pointing into the sun and I was keeping an eye on my toddling toddler while trying to capture video. But still, the message comes through loud and clear!).

Really appreciate you posting this but... damn... seriously the sun DIRECTLY behind Stephen King's head? That can't be good for your camera, never-mind the quality of the video. (And I'm just trying to be helpful here, but I'd suggest zooming in as much as possible on the guy's head next time... if you CAN fill the frame with his head, then you might find the auto-exposure giving you less of a silhouette effect.)

I know, I know. I was just pointing the camera in the general direction of the Stephen King while watching my 1 year old climb in and out of a wagon, throw his apple in the dirt, and wander near the boundaries of my comfort zone. If I had known King was going to speak, I would have prepared the shot better, but it was a complete surprise. (To be honest, I am surpised -- and a little embarrased? - that a video of such crappy quality has had so many hits.)

King isn't a snowbird, snowbirds don't pay taxes in Florida.

And, finally, your wealth shouldn't show your sucres in life. In fact, the VERY BEST writer in the world make a whole lot less than King. The only extremely rich people are people who take advantage of others for themselves, AKA Business owners.

Frickin' people have to learn from their mistakes and stop being so god-damn greedy. Here in my country, we DIDN'T de-regulate banks, and we are still good. But no, the greedy just keep being greedy.

And let's not forget who brought about this economic crisis in the first place. It sure as he'll wasn't the Democrats. It was Regan. He lowered the taxes and de-regulated the banks.

Boy am I sick of the stuck up Republicans in this comment section. Sure, the government dosent do a good job with taxes, BUT COME ON. The rich can live with 75% taxes, let alone 22%. Idiots.

    Let me get this right...

Stephen King thinks the government could spend that extra 22% better than he could? He gives it to charity! I'm sure the charity won't miss that 22% right?

We own our bodies and we own the labor our bodies produce. Therefore I own my labor and the results of my labor, income.

Guess its easy to take from others when you are at the extremes..either wealthy or poor

But for the rest of us, taking by force only leads to more trouble
