@cuoredeinidi I heard this opera in L.A. in 2002. I was very impressed by the young, at that time unkonwn tenor who sang this role. It was Rolando Villazon, before anyone knew who he was. I'm so glad I got to hear him back then before he started on what seems to be a hell bent campaign to destroy his own voice.

Donald is remarkable in this role. I also love watching his performance of Recondite Armonia from Tosca. I know he has some CDs out now, so I am hoping for an album of famous arias. That would be incredible!!!

Each time I look at this I think what a privilege it is to see this performance! I keep hoping that video of Madame Butterfly will turn up where Donald sang the lead as Lt. Pinkerton. "Addio fiorito asil" is one of my favorite arias. I have heard the audio of Donald singing it and it is beautiful.

I just love watching Donald perform on stage. He has the dramatic ability to be a good opera performer. Would love to see him sing the lead in Madame Butterfly.

This young man has an amazing voice.
Hugely talented. I hope he is singing opera again now that he has full use of his voice.

I can only imagine where he would be today had his opera career not been interrupted by a tragic injury. Thank God he got his voice back and is performing again. Donald is an outstanding artist!

I am an opera singer and was a young artist at prestigeous opera company where Don was singing and I remember him being very nice to me. I was glad to see he was singing again. Buona fortuna Don!
This is a rare treat! Donald is marvelous. I would give anything to see the complete video.

This leaves me speechless!! Outstanding performance! Thank you, primotenore... for making this available.
What a shame that beautiful opera like this is fading from our music culture.
Wonder if the entire performance was taped???? Would love to have it.
