Governor Sanford thinks a mortgage bailout program for a small minority of delinquents is a bad idea and so do I. But Governor Rendell, says not so. People were not irresponsible ... they were dupes.

  • sanford hyprocrit his state gets lots more in spending than it pays in taxes for years now 2005 they got $1.31 in spending for every dollar in taxes so he lies sc unemployment is 10% second worse in country and he just doesnt care most in Sc are very upset repubs and dems with him and I dont blame them

  • EVERY economist, Governor Rendell? I'm sorry, but that just sounds absolutely farfetched. I find it very difficult to believe "every" economist thinks a housing bailout is necessary to prevent soem sort of depression. Bullshit! Esp. conservative economists and libertarian ones. Just how "conservative" is an economist that endorses this simplistic nonsensical bailout? I think Rendell is confusing "every economist" with "every economist that I've talked" which is a smaller list.

  • When are the Democrats and those screaming "predatory lending!" gonna face reality? The people weren't "duped" into taking bad loans! That's just ridiculous. Besides, the term "predatory lending" is so vague. I mean, hell, there still is no legal definition. It's just whatever a judge or pissed-off lendee or legislator or politician thinks is it. I think it's mostly a myth, based on misperceptions about lending in small-income areas.

Giving and taking out bad loans is inexcusable.
