I use Api 550b and 2500 on Kick, the VEQ and 2500 on snare, the SSL E-Channel on Hihat, 550b and 2500 on each tom, SSL G-Channels on Room and Overheads. Sounds very delicious!

yea cheers mate, that 57 im using is fine, i do that so the hats dnt come through, and it works
-
@SoulcheckAudio No, the comparison is still fine because the comparison is between the two halves of the video. It has nothing to do with the mics as the only change is the plugins used. The performance is exactly the same; it's the same take processed two ways so you can hear the difference between the two types of plugins.

lol the mic is fine its stoping bleed, and listen to it in hd then

@Projectfrontroom nice man

I prefer the api as well. The ssl plugin sounds too clean...too digital. Nice, big fat sound. Would cut through the mix, leaving option to eq and reduce levels if need be. Which is almost always netter than raising levels.

I prefer the Api too! The ssl is too...clean ,like most digital software.
-
ssl sounded allot smoother and better to my ears but in a mix that for some reason the drums just cant cut through id use the api.
Video swaps to Api plugs at 1 min
