Wow,,,, you can't get much better than this!
-
You can tell that Gary LOVES playin with the Sadies... he was "giddy"... awesome.
-
Oh yes, definitely aware of his production finger print. Top notch, for sure. Now we just need a Gary Louris and The Sadies album, a la John Doe/Andre Williams/Jon Langford! Who wants to start the petition!

Gary helped produce and played on the last two Sadies records, but it would be great to actually see him play with the band.

It didn't make the cut for the basement tape but can be found on the extended bootleg version "A tree with Roots". Really sweet stuff 4 disks worth of unreleased home recordings form Dylan and The Band.
-
Besides Basement Tapes and the Byrds, also covered by Fairport Convention back in the day, and probably others too. But yes, a Dylan song.

Great combo. Would love to see an entire record with this lineup! Thanks for the vid!

almost better than the real thing..):
"You Ain't Goin' Nowhere" is a song written by Bob Dylan, and made famous by The Byrds. The Band would have recored it with Dylan for the Basement Tapes, but I believe that's the only time they did so.
Either way, fantastic cover. Thanks for sharing!
