I will always dig this album, it was different from the first two, which made it surprising and fresh, but also songs like this that were really primal feeling, more raw and underpolished, still love it!!! "SILVER" still makes my souls hair stand up on the back of it's neck!!! "FIVE" is just sick!!!  Man, what a badass album!!! Every MACHINEHEAD album is cool as hell!!! Can't wait for "UNTO THE LOCUST"

@anthonyhope84 - Some of my favourite songs are 'Exhale the Vile', 'Blood of the Zodiac', 'From this Day', 'Crashing Around You', but because they are off of the 'lesser appreciated' albums of MH, their 'fans' - noticed the quotation marks - have never heard of, or just resort to criticism because it's not 'The Blackening' or whatever. Honestly, if anyone compares the entire discography of MH to 'The Blackening', then fuck 'em, because they are clearly not an MH fan at all!

@anthonyhope8 - Exactly, Anthony! The problem is that people are too busy digging 'styles' or 'trends', instead of appreciating MH for what they really are! I am a proud MH fan and to me there are NO 'bad' albums, just the guts of a popular heavy metal band willing to back themselves and what they believe in!

man, if only unto the locust could be this good. dont get me wrong, it has some awesome fucking songs. i cried for an hour after "darkness within" but everything on that album aside from locust, be still and know, and darkness within sounded the same. the blackening, however was perfect.
