"And supersize me is anymore scientific?"

Of course it is. Marxism is better than Libertarianism!

  • @outsidemendham And supersize me is anymore scientific? Of course a documentary isn't scientific, there isnt a control or strictly regulated diet/exercise regiment. But they do have points, which are sourced and been showed by multiple studies. Which you can find if you just google it. But carbs are the primary reason for being fat, everything else is just extra and is not weighed as much.

  • 1:33:14 is where he gets his results and weighs in again for the people haven't got time to watch it all.

  • oh that's stupid, go to Africa, black africans are never fat.

  • dude! what about the milkshakes!! deconstructing supersize me... ok we get the point.

  • Thank you! I was searching for months to see this documentary! Pretty much i knew 80% (a lot from reading about paleo and keto diet) of this, now i can link them to this documentary :)

  • What's especially interesting is that bodybuilders have understood the invalidity of the lipid hypothesis for decades.

Second half of this video is very informative even if you have a university natural sciences education.

Ending great too. Happens to hint at an issue not really explored: that some people or even entire ethnic groups of people do have preferences based on their ancestral foods. Also, it fails to cover the important role of dietary fiber. High fiber foods tend to contain carbs.

  • "Blacks and Hispanics ... are genetically predisposed to be thicker than White people." - just joking. Completely misquoting that for comic relief.

This is an extremely interesting video and far too scientifically nuanced for many people to understand. I will say one thing: BMI is an *awful* measure for obesity!

    Thanks for the upload.
