@BobaTeaSunflower The man on the right in the beginning of the video is not the italian one. Looks like the man who stated to understand what a 7th dan looks like doesn't display skills that are even close to that of a true person of average understanding of kendo and capable of thinking without prejudice
@BobaTeaSunflower This is a ji-geiko demostration, and the two 7° Dan wants to demostrate how a serious ji-geiko must be, but this is not a 7th dan vs 7th dan ji-geiko! The Italian Kendoka was the headcoach of the Italian Team at Glasgow 2003, and he is a 7th Dan Renshi, and also Kato-sensei was a Nanadan. About the level of Italian Kendoka, I can say that the exams from Sandan to Nanadan are sustained in front of a Japanese commission, and they are very strict in high grades exam.
@superboaha79 I'd say the man on the right, in the beginning of this video, isn't nearly 7th dan. I've trained for years with Kato sensei so I kind of understand what a 7th dan Kendo player looks like. Perhaps the standards in Italy are lower? It depends on where one tests, but Kato sensei surely has taken all of his tests in Japan, where the highest standards for Kendo are. By the way, Kato sensei is now 8th dan.
@BobaTeaSunflower, i want to ask you: who is the 'man from italy', in your opinion? the italian one is, for you, the kendoka on the left or on the right (at the beginning of the video)?
The man from Italy who is stated to be 7 dan doesn't display skills that are even close to that of a true person of 7 dan. He displays skills at a 2 dan level, at best.
@BobaTeaSunflower
the man on the right isn't livio, he is the left guy at the beginning.
