Yes, Sammy Strain was a member of the Ojays after original tenor, William Powell, died of sickle cell-related cancer in '77; Sammy became an Ojay in '72 because of Powell's ongoing weakness and inability to make performances. Sammy was with Little Anthony & the Imperials two separate periods: late 1950's thru 1972, and from 1992 thru 2004 when Sammy retired from singing & performing. He was a superb vocalist and integral part of The Chips, Ojays and Little Anthony & the Imperials.
