We are very proud to announce that Applewood Plumbing Heating & Electric was recently named the 2009 winner of the Better Business Bureau's Torch Award for Marketplace Trust in the large business category. The award was presented on Thursday, Oct. 15, 2009 at a luncheon held at the Grand Hyatt in downtown Denver. The 7th Annual BBB Torch Awards honors outstanding Denver area businesses. The winner of the Torch Award exemplifies the BBB's mission "to be the leader in advancing marketplace trust." The BBB recognized eight finalists from the small, large and nonprofit business sectors from more than 200 nominees. "I think businesses have an obligation to the communities they serve to ensure trust is at the foundation of their relationship," said John Ward, President and Founder of Applewood. "Any company who can maintain an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau is an example of this kind of business ethic." For 36 years, Applewood has been one of Denver's leading service companies. Our success can be traced to our business philosophy: Better. Cleaner. Faster. We are committed to a company culture that ensures the motto: "We never lie, cheat or defraud our customers, our company or ourselves." "In an industry that fights for integrity daily, we are proud that we deserve - and receive - our customers' trust each time we enter their home," John Ward said. "It never hurts a business to operate with honesty and integrity, no matter what you do." These basic business principles and philosophies are modeled from the top leadership, and are reflected in each employee and service call completed, everyday. We thank all of our employees and customers for making Applewood a true example of how a business and the community can build a marketplace of trust.
