Untrue. However their may have been a similar profession in China there were no "Geisha". Japanese and Chinese culture are two different things. In fact, the movie "Memoirs of a Geisha" caused quite a stir when casting Chinese actors in the main roles. The Japanese were quite upset over it.

3:52 I find that very funny. lmao

The dumbasses in these comments, why do none of you simply read the description?? For the record Mulan is chinese so stop arguing over that. She was not a samurai in the movie but an imperial soldier. IselinChan just made this video because f the song.
-
@No0ukou did you not read the description?
-
Actually, it was the Japanese who were heavily influenced with Chinese culture. Nothing here seems Japanese (except the sterotypical emphasis on honor). Not even the way they dress

I really liked this video, great job! Don't listen to all those people who can't read.

Why is it so hard to read a summary on a video before going into hysterics?
-
@TheCupcakeswirl I think you need to go watch the movie again... and maybe research the legend as well. Japan is a beautiful country with some fantastic culture of it's own. China is also beatiful, and people should treat it's history with respect. Please go and read some of these old legends and inform yourself about something before you give others false information.

Well I liked it a lot. And I think that Mulan is Chinese with Japanese influences. Walt Disney was just trying to make a Disney character who was apart from the standard white princess like Snow White, Aurora, Ariel ...
-
@TheCupcakeswirl The movie is obiviously Chinese. i mean for god's sake you see chinese characters in the movie.
I know "Becoming A Geisha" is the title of the song you used, but maybe you should just put "Mulan Music Video" as the title, so people don't misinterpret it?

@MsCerealKiller I could but I've always done it this way and I don't want to change it.

@IselinChan I know what you mean, and you have the right to get frustrated. If only more people wouldn't think so much about it and just enjoy the video or atleast read the description. Brilliant video though! :) 5/5*

@No0ukou Ehhh,it's not about it! I'm very well aware of that :/ It's a music video. Does it say "Mulan is a geisha"? No,it doesn't. I simply matched scenes where she is dressed similary with music from "Memoirs of Geisha". Please, dont' get so worked up over this :/
