this seems to do a remarkable job of surfacing. To be honest, I am somewhat surprised at this because the edge appears to contact the work at a very steep angle

@Mueiwark you have to bend with a western style adze also if you want to work on a timber at ground level.
Interesting, it works like some kind of planer. Funny, like with most Jap tools you have bend over to use it.. Not very handy for tall westerners. ;)

@Mueiwark you have to bend with a western style adze also if you want to work on a timber at ground level.
