A stunning reinvention produced by Lincoln Center Theater, South Pacific swept the 2008 Tony Awards®, winning seven honors including Best Musical Revival. The breathtaking new production features a cast of 34 and a full orchestra of 26 members -- the largest orchestra of any touring Broadway production. Set on a tropical island during World War II, the musical tells the sweeping romantic story of two couples and how their happiness is threatened by the realities of war and by their own prejudices. The beloved score's songs include "Some Enchanted Evening," "I'm GonnaWash That Man Right Outa My Hair," "This NearlyWas Mine" and "There is Nothin' Like a Dame." USA Today cheers, "Gorgeous! South Pacific doesn't just float; it soars!"

So nice to see you in this interview. Having seen you as Emile de Becque in New York is unforgettable. Too sad that there is no complete video of this with you. You were absolutely fanastic.

Unbelievable , powerful, magnetic , beautiful voice!. What an incredible talent I had witnessed. I wish there's a David's version of the South Pacific CD. I am your new fan Mr. Pittsinger. Thank you for an incredible performance, that was my birthday (Oct. 23rd matinee) when I saw your show!!!

I did respond. I did see it. Pittsinger was an incredible de Becque. His deep voice and stage presence conveyed the complexities of the character in a new way for me. Thank you!
