Funny enough, heavy computational workloads are major thing in the industry. Time is money. Why OSX can't handle this is beyond me. It's supposed to be the most "Revolutionary OS in the world."

Mac viruses are currently exploding at a rate of 10% per month (Source; McAfee).

And I think you got my comment backwards. Snow Leopard and Lion have been ultra-minimalist upgrades twice in a row. Apple hasn't progressed. They've stagnated.

@MaestroDraven To your points, in order: Yes but 3D rendering and gaming is literally the only thing OS X does slower, and the difference is negligible. Security against what? The last time OS had a major virus outbreak was never.

You're saying there's been NOTHING new implemented from the original System Software (or Mac OS) and OS X 10.7? I'll just have to take your word for it, since you obviously know what you're talking about (I mean you used obscure terms like OpenCL and GCD, wow!)

Good suggestion, but I don't see the innovation you speak of. The OS is slower than Windows 7 at high computational workloads like rendering. The security is practically nonexistent, making it the most vulnerable and exploitable of any OS on the market, and all this talk of "200 new features" in each iteration of the OS is a smokescreen for the simple fact that there's really nothing new going on. OpenCL and GCD are living proof of that. CUDA beat it to the punch years ago.

Anyone riding on the PC wave needs to get over themselves and recognize the innovation behind the Apple OS

Anyone riding Steve Jobs' dick needs to get off their high horse and understand that the Apple OS despite being innovative is far from perfect.
