Yamaha TX81Z Performance Mode Demo Track 1

Track entirely made with Yamaha TX81Z FM Synthesizer using the "Performance Mode".
In Performance Mode it is possible to use the 8 voices of the TX81Z multitimbral,
8 voices split into max. 8 instruments (f.e. Bass=1, Pad=3, Kick=1, Snare=1, Hihat=1, cowbell=1).

This track uses the internal preset sounds including Lately Bass. :)

I´ve always been drawn to the concept of making as much music as possible with as litte gear as possible. Working with tight limits forces you to exploit your creativity at maximum and thus you´re likely to come up with something far more interesting than if you just start to add up VSTis. Some of the more amazing sounds that are way similar to an instrument on this machine are the harmonica and Double Bass, it's very close! Getting into FM synthesis is a fun and bizarre task. My question for Ma curious...are you using the cass control recording for this video or other ? I'm still fuzzy on the performance mode of this machine.

I have an 780. The drum pads are worn out. Maybe they just decay. I dunno how to fix it :(
