I didn't quite get the feeling that her technique would be very affective, Go to my channel and check out a way to stop your dog from barking at the wrong times quick and easy without extensive training, you will be surprised at how quick it works

Too bad, your dog will never be able to find your keys. Aversives do not teach your dog what you want (no barking). They only at best suppress a behavior. Much better to totally ignore the dog and let "extinction" do it's work. Bark=you-are-air no_bark=attention. See B.F: Skinner
OTOH, putting barking AND no barking on cue is terrific and so much of a better idea!
