Never heard this before, though I've always loved the 'No Roses' version. Seen Shirley once a long time ago at Norwich folk club. Into her seventies now;as far as I can tell, gigs are rare if still happening at all. Wonderful song, the redemptional integrity of the tune going someway to compensate for a heinous crime and the sense of abandonement concomitant with the fact that she was alone and unknown, thanks for posting
