Pocketstation Review

A review for Sony's own VMU the Pocketstation. Sharing a great deal of similarities to Sega's own Dreamcast memory card this memory card sadly never saw the light of day here on U.S. shores. Though it did work with one game here and that's Final Fantasy 8. Heres my look at the unit

the pocketstation never came in a bag...ever lol if you got one in a bag im afraid you got ripped off my friend. look online, every japanese retailer sold it in its box. besides what electronics do you know that are sold in a bag? XD n00b

sadly yes, theres doezens of things i can think of that id love to import but wouldnt be able to play since its not in english. damn them

Man I remember when this thing was first shown and everyone I knew with a PS1 wanted one! It was so strange they didn't release it over here. I'm sure it would have sold decently at least. Now they would put a rechargeable li-ion battery in there that charges in the memory card slot? Heh that would be awesome. Just like the VMU then the battery life is rubbish.

Nowadays it could be really kickass. the screen could be a bit bigger and offer a bunch of options and storage space would be no problem with mini sd tech. just thinking about it makes me wish i had control of a gaming company lol

I picked up a pocketstation back in the day and now I just realized that it was Taro the playstation mascot (well in japan anyway)

if you have the PC version of FF8, there is a little chocobo world game thats included in the install. its the same as the pocket station, lets you do the same shit.

i just got FF8 a month ago at a local game store for 10 bucks (as well as RE3)
