GOD THAT WAS AMAZING

This is a priceless, PRICELESS, video. It's got everything...an Unser breaking speed records every lap, Tom Carnegie on the mic saying so, plus "and he's on it." Brilliant! Thank God for YouTube, because I have been searching and searching since he died and can't find anything like this.

@rdadal Right now, I wouldn't mind hearing those four words I hated the most, "Andretti is slowing down."
-
R.I.P. Tom Carnegie. One of the great voices in sports.
-
RIP Tom Carnegie.

Oh to hear the immortal words once again..."Aaaaand it's a NEW TRACK RECORD!" I can't wait. It's been too damn long since we've heard those words.

I miss the good old days. Tony, and the IRL stunk up openwheel racing.

there weren't ANY empty seats with the exception of the military seating on the pit side straight coming out of four. i don't know what race you watched but i was there. i covered the entire month of may and it was gigantic.

I'm not bitter, I'm concerned, look, IMS can say there was 400k there, but was there really that many in reality? If there was really 400k people there, than why where there so many empty seats along the front stretch?
-
what a big fucking liar you are. ONE MAN did not ruin the sport. there were 400,000 people at indy this year. the biggest crowd in a decade. don't be such a bitter asshole.
I agree with the simple cool look of the 89-95 cars. They looked like sleek spiders with a low hump slung between 4 tires! And you just cannot beat the classic 'names' of the day: AJFoyt, UnserSr & Jr, Emerson, Mears, Andretti. I REALLY wish the modern IndyCars would go back to the sleek look WITHOUT the ugly F1 scoop on top. The strake-fin added in 93-95 made them almost like fighter planes. The Mercedes-Penske 1994 cars were ridiculously fast. I miss those cars/days/drivers...
