I've been looking for a sweet truck like this for a long time. A 1982 with just over 46,000 kms or 29,000 miles! A gasser with air brakes ... but I do have a few diesels just sitting around ... Yes the bucket is going to come off and will be for sale.

Howcome the old s series have different hoods? Is it like a different trim package or engine choice? Or Could you just get whatever hood you wanted?

I was just looking at a detroit yahoo group, they posted some silver 53 specs. a 6v53T with 5C60 Injecters would produce 280 HP @ 2500 rpms and 674 ft-lbs torque @ 1600. a 6v53T would be just right. You might get better fuel milage then from the 671 detroit. If its not enough power, they were mechanical, so you could turn the pump up so it would make 300-320. But i would put a pyrometer on the truck, just in case..
