Ask your favorite gaming websites and youtube channel to join the cause by not attending and covering E3 this year until the ESA changes their stance on SOPA and PIPA! If they truly apposed this legislation the last thing they want to do is support an entity that spent $190,000 on PIPA lobbying.

Protect Children from Internet Pornography Act passed through a committee and basically gives the government the right to monitor everything you do online. People are concerned they may try attach SOPA or parts of SOPA into this bil. Of course we want to protect our kids from porn and being exploited in child porn, but it's the PARENTS job to protect kids from watching porn, not the government.

my positions on child porn is the same as my position on the drug policy of the United States, legalize possession (except in cases where the image explicit displays children in sex acts, with another person regardless of age), and go after the ones who distribute the content. why? 1) it might just be a good Samaritan reporting possible child abuse, 2) we are wasting resources.

Although I do not condone possession of child pornography, we go way too far in those cases.

My thoughts exactly, so the governments requires all ISPs to block porn sites, unless you "opt-in" for receiving those services, guess what, all I need is a VPN to a foreign ISP to circumvent the block. Children need protecting no doubt, but in the case of child porn, the government goes so far as to arrest parents who take images of their babies in the bathtub, or running through a sprinkler naked, in the BACK YARD, with a fence that does not allow people to stick hands through.

ESA is a backwards ass "representative" association. Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft, Ubisoft, you name the company, and likely, they rely in mediums like YouTube, Blogspot for stuff like reviews, LPs, and even the trailers they made why? free advertising. E3 may be the largest gaming event anyone may know about, but we have Game Developer's Conference (GDC) and Consumer Electronic Show (CES). SOPA and PIPA may have been killed on the floor, but that's just the calm before the storm.

Exactly, you know how the world SHOULD protect children from watching porn and doing stupid stuff? Not just by locking certain sites (trust me, it's easy to bypass, and just strengthens your child's curiosity), but also by being there to monitor your child, watch what they do, and make sure they aren't doing stupid things. "We don't have the time to spend on checking every site and watching what they do," so you don't have time to be a parent? Make the time and grow up, your kid needs you.

The ESA will never remove support from SOPA, PIPA, ACTA, or any other censorship bill because they want to censor potential future competition in order to create a monopoly in the gaming industry. If they can remove videos ads or entire websites that they can possibly make a copyright case over, they will have a complete monopoly because no one will be able to promote their product IF they can create it in the first place.
