* Water repellents minimize effects of weather cycles
- UV stabilizers are important
- Apply within 6 weeks of completion and reapply annually
* Stains (water repellent and UV stabilizer)
- Look for longest manufacturer's warranty
- Apply when surface dry (approx. 3 months); reapply as needed
* Paint
- Alkyd oil-based primer and high quality acrylic latex paint (2 coats)
- Apply when surface dry (approx. 3 months); reapply as needed
