@Aidsmith there are actually about 60% of police that are fairly decent people it's the other 40% that let them down. Also Dopeslax your argument is totally diff as you would have actually broked the LAW by causing harm to another human being so thats a LAW not a (section or act). These so called protectors of the PEOPLE abuse and try to use ACTS insted of LAW also if they are going to use an ACT then yes they do have to know the wording as in PACE, they cannot just word it for themselves as then it becomes a farce. An ACT or Legislation can only be consented to by the governed YOU or I. If you have caused harm , fraud or breach of the peace then thats a diff matter altogether until then no Laws have been broken (look it up).

If we expect police officers to be able to recite the letter of the law for any crime they may come across on the beat, we are being idiotic pedants. Solicitors study for years, then research every case, they don't have to deal with violent scum on the streets. If this cyclist is a 'student of the law' as he states, he should be ashamed of himself, and learn whose side he is supposed to be on.
