If you want to read the book for free go to your library and request the book. Make sure you get the ISBN number this way if they don't have the book they can either buy or get the book from another library. I would rather save my money to buy more silver food radios etc. What I will do is if I see a page that has check list I will take a pix of it with my I phone and enlarge it on my computer. I use to buy books and do so to find I really just wanted a few pages to keep.

I usually read the blog at least 5 times a week and it was apparent to me when I checked out the book in the bookstore that I could save my money and just stay tuned to the blog. I thought Patriots was okay, but most of the characters seemed to be the same, uninteresting person with different names. I was also disturbed that there was an entire chapter that glorified the infamous Kehoe brothers and made them out to be patriotic victims. Patriots don't shoot at cops for no apparent reason.

Maybe one of the most valuable books "Patriots" for this day and age. Hands down an essential read for any prepper! 5 stars!

I have two copies. The second edition and the new one. They are excellent. Jim Rawles also has a preparedness course that teaches food storage. It is also very worthwhile.

I read Patriots and I loved it!!!
I thought that the book was very poorly written and quite superficial, basically talks about building a retreat and gives a bunch of laundry lists of what you should buy. Reads like a bunch of blog posts that were pasted together. Fine if you have hundreds of thousands of dollars but doesn't go in depth on any tactics or techniques. Also uses a lot of cutesy acronyms.

Actually it was a bunch of blog posts posted together. I don't think either of his two books are high society literature however the information you gleen from them is priceless in my opinion.

Hey Happy New Year!! Thanks for this review! I just ordered the book on amazon and you mentioning the author by name and his blog site set me off on an hour long adventure where one link lead to another and I've picked up a TON of new and much needed information as a result. Thanks very much... LD
