This was one of the very few times where she had seriously planned to do 6 triple jumps: 2 toe loops, 2 Salchows, 1 flip, 1 loop. She doubled the flip and the last Salchow, but she went for the loop which was very rare for her. The music is Rhapsody in Black. As far as I know, the only footage of her attempting a triple loop is this program, the 1987 GDR Nationals, the 1987 Worlds, and the 1994 Olympics. If anyone has footage besides these programs, I would really appreciate you letting me know. Thanks very much.
I've noticed that Katarina never attempted a Triple Loop at the START of a program, only around the halfway mark. I wonder if she would have landed more of them if she did them at the beginning, when she had the most energy?

If you watch any of Jutta Muller's skaters, you will notice that this was her strategy. The hardest jump usually wasn't at the very beginning of the program. She felt it was better to get loose and over the nerves after getting some easier jumps out of the way. After a few jumps, her skaters were rarely tired as their endurance training was pretty intense. But the fact remains that Kati was pretty inconsistent with the triple loop and flip...maybe she should have tried them at the beginning.
