I find the idea to be quite intriguing and engaging.  From a perspective as both a student and instructor, students are too often confounded by a lack of critical information at their fingertips and often rely on generalities that are often untrue. Your idea equips individuals with a rather inexpensive solution that provides them the tools and technology to make informed life decisions.

@OsmoticRichardo Thank you! The lack of information is a huge issue for a lot of us and I would love to see people equipped to find information for themselves. The lack of expensiveness is a great incentive as well. Thanks for the comment.

This is a wonderful idea, and the great thing about it is that implementation of it is very possible. It wouldn't require whole new infrastructures or technology - it is all at our fingertips now - and netbooks are cheap!!! :)

@mcquillan86 Thank you! I'm glad you mentioned infrastructure because you are right about that. The wide availability of cellphone networks in most developing countries would work perfectly with this. In addition many of the 2/3 world countries that could benefit from this have very new networks that would support the the technology further.

This is a good idea, it will spread information and allow those in even the hardest-hit areas to use that take charge and help their own cause.

@asf07 Thank you. I agree with the idea that people could take charge of their own cause and that's what I really love about the netbooks being used in Bangladesh. The more power in the local community the better.
