Coal train blockade ends

This coal train was blockaded for two and a half hours on Monday 19th November, shutting down the primary rail line into the world's biggest coal port in Newcastle. It was a protest against the expansion of Australia's biggest contribution to climate change - coal exports - which is fully supported by both major political parties.

A member of the group locked himself to the train with a steel pipe. This footage shows him being cut off the train by police, and then arrested.

I'm sick and tired of being accused of hindering "hard working people" when what we're really trying to do is clean up their mess. Or at least encourage those hard working people to opt for a cleaner occupation.

How about solar power - Australia has one of the most abundant solar resources in the world. It is insane that you are still digging up and burning coal.
