  • BTW here's some musician info:

    Larry CARLTON: gtr

    Travis CARLTON: b

    Moyes LUCAS: dr

    Rick JACKSON: key

    Rest are unknown to me.

  • I think Moyes Lucas's downside is that he doesn't play to accommodate everyone else. He creates a rhythmic pattern and general feel, then sticks with it. He should have felt the more jazzy phrasing of Rick Jackson's solo and adjusted to it. That's why, as a whole, I think this recording seems "too clean".

  • このイントロはよく練習したなあ。

  • The amazing Larry Carlton!

And the lost art of rhythm guitar playing!

  • @eqsmooth

Hi Smooth. I'll do so, thanks for the heads up. On Larry, Josie was tastefully done, but I actually agree with what you're getting at. He has far better than this to choose from.

  • @monstermax22 I ADMIRE Larry Carlton and own some of his records. I just find this cover, particularly boring. It is a fair rendition but just falls flat. Why not listen to the original or the live versions w/Dennis Chamber knocking it outta the park?

  • @eqsmooth

Like I said, each to their own. People do not admire Larry Carlton to be 'in' as you put it, the guy has talent, end of. I imagine being alone and in the minory is rather boring, Cheer up.

  • @monstermax22 I'm always in the minority. I don't join the crowd just to be "in". This is boring. Subjective opinion, period.

  • @eqsmooth

Each to their own, but could anyone really call such virtuousity boring? Having seen him live a few times (and met him), I can promise you he's a million miles from 'boring.' You're in a minority, here. Personally, I'd rather listen to Carlton, Ritenour, et al than the oh-so-predictable soulless, devil horns widdling brigade!

  • @MerrittJeff1970 agree 100%.

  • Yeah I will never understand Larry. I think he is constantly trying to break through and sell millions worldwide trying for the Kenny G of guitar by keeping things simple and yet it NEVER happens. So be yoursself LC and rip it like you know you can!!!

  • Hang on - isn't this supposed to be a guitar festival? Why does the keyboard player get the solo?
